Upon careful review of the record and the briefs submitted by the parties, and having duly considered the arguments and issues raised by the parties and the statutory and case law relevant to the issues on appeal, particularly the Hawaii Supreme Court's recent decision in In re Jane Doe, Born on June 20, 1995, ___ Hawaii ___, ___ P.3d ___, slip op. (No. 21972, March 30, 2001), we hereby affirm the Order Awarding Permanent Custody, entered by the Family Court of the Third Circuit (the family court) on May 20, 1999, and the Order Denying Mother's and Father's Motions for Reconsideration, entered by the family court on June 28, 1999.
