ORDER GRANTING PETITION FOR THE IMMEDIATE
SUSPENSION OF RESPONDENT CHARLES R. BROWN FROM
THE PRACTICE OF LAW PURSUANT TO RSCH RULE 2.12A

Upon consideration of (1) Petitioner Office of Disciplinary Counsel's (Petitioner ODC) ongoing disciplinary investigation of Respondent Charles R. Brown (Respondent Brown), (2) Petitioner ODC's December 29, 2005 petition for the immediate suspension of Respondent Brown, from the practice of law pursuant to Rule 2.12A of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawai`i (RSCH), (3) Petitioner ODC's December 29, 2005 ex parte motion to file under seal the attached records (Exhibits 1 to 17 to the petition for the immediate suspension of Respondent Brown from the practice of law pursuant to RSCH Rule 2.12A), (4) the January 13, 2006 order to appear within ten (10) days and show cause as to why Respondent Brown should not be immediately suspended from the practice of law pursuant to RSCH Rule 2.12A, (5) the February 15, 2006 order granting in part and denying in part Petitioner ODC's February 10, 2006 motion for service upon Respondent Brown by certified mail of the order to appear and show cause, (6) Petitioner ODC's March 15, 2006 affidavit of Magali V. Sunderland regarding Petitioner ODC's service upon Respondent Brown by certified mail of (7) Respondent Brown's lack of a response to the January 13, 2006 order to appear and show cause, and (8) the record, we find that Respondent Brown is guilty of failing to cooperate with Petitioner ODC's disciplinary investigation and this disciplinary proceeding. Therefore,

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, pursuant to RSCH Rule 2.12A(b), that Respondent Charles R. Brown (attorney number 7570) is suspended from the practice of law in Hawai`i, effective immediately and until further order of this court.
