Petitioner/defendant-appellant Mathilda Noelani Mason's "writ of mandamus" and "notice of appeal," filed in the supreme court on August 4, 2008 and August 7, 2008, respectively, are deemed applications for writ of certiorari. Therein, Mason seeks review of the intermediate appellate court's July 10, 2008 dismissal of her appeal for non-payment or non-waiver of the filing fees. The applications are hereby rejected.
